This is my first blog.........too perplexed to pen down anything.......just putting down some words....phrases....sentences......and than erasing them. I think that this happens with every new blogger, its just that some accept it & some are too self obsessed to do so.
There are so many things which happen to us for the first time. Its the first time which is always special & remains in our heart forever............................. whether it was your first tricycle which made you the most sought under five......................your first crush during your kindergarden days with whom you shared your lunch & candies..................your first pocket money which made you Bill Gates in your own eyes......................the first time when you bunked the class, got caught & not to mention what was the after effect.........................your first board exam which made your heart beat faster & brain numb...............your first day in the college & how you desperately tried to escape from the ragging ordeal........................your first date when you thought you should have carried an Oxford or collins Dictionary to avoid that obvious loss of words.
Anyways, this was the first time I voted.I appreciate the efforts of TATA for their site www.jagore.com to help educate people about their ballot right but sometimes the efforts are waisted due to the slow action of our so called Election commission....either its their work load which is to be blamed or their mismanagement.
It just happened that while submitting the Voting registration form on 29th April 09 we were told that we can only have our name enlisted after elections.........which meant that I had just 2 options either not to Vote in Delhi OR to ask my Dad to request EC not to remove my name from Electoral roll of my home town (as he was told that my name shall be removed owing to the fact that I no longer stayed there from past 10 years) ...It meant traveling six hours all the way to my home town to vote.So i thought of going with the later.
Anyways the pain was worth taking I reached home on 7th May 09 at 0100hrs & got to cast my first vote for the Lok Sabha election. I belong to that working class who have left the old funfilled college days behind and is in profession so taking a leave was just ruled out & so I returned to Delhi on the same night.Travel for me has always been a health concern but despite that the sense of satisfaction that atleast I am trying my best to do my duties as an Indian Citizen made it all so easy.......Coz I Belive that BALLOT speaks louder than bullet.
The last phase of Elections shall be on 13th May 09........i just hope whoever goes through this blogg & is an adult falling under the last phase election Zone should try his level best to practise the fundamental right- RIGHT TO VOTE.
